Allergy Relief Products
There are generally two main strategies for dealing with allergies:
- Avoidance of the allergens
- Management of symptoms.
In addition to the types of products that relieve symptoms, there are also wide arrays of products that help you to avoid allergens and reduce reactions. The bulk of the types of products reviewed on this site have to do with avoidance of allergens. If you aren't exposed to the trigger substance, you don't have the reaction.
In the case of allergies, the best defence is a good offence.
If you are allergic to pollen, dust or many of the other 'inhalant' allergens, check out our information on air purifiers, air filters, carpet cleaning, vacuum cleaners, dust mites, hay fever and sinus problems. In these sections, we deal with a number of over-the-counter (OTC) remedies and non-pharmaceutical approaches that can help you to minimize your allergic reactions.
For some of us, our allergies are experienced as skin reactions to certain chemicals or compounds. Check out our sections on personal care, skin allergies and cleaning products.
Do you suffer with asthma in addition to allergies? Check out our information on devices that your doctor can recommend in order to increase the effectiveness of your asthma medication.
Because many people with respiratory allergies also need to keep the right level of moisture in the air, we also have sections on humidifiers and dehumidifiers. If the air in your home has the right level of humidity, it can help to keep your airways less irritated and inflamed.
